New Product Quality Manager

Role Overview

The New Product Quality Manager role reports to the Senior Director of Vehicle programs. The key function of this position is to ensure the competitiveness of our product lines in relation to our competitors with regard to both functional and perceived quality. With continuous improvement at the heart of this role feedback from multiple internal and external sources requires management and processing to ensure design concepts are developed taking in to consideration customer feedback, market expectations and internal business needs. A successful candidate must have impeccable attention to detail, an eye for craftsmanship and a desire to ensure we deliver technical solutions capable of delivering to the highest standards with every product, to every customer every time. 

Responsibilities

Project Risk Assessment & Management:

Departmental development and integration in to the Fisker Development Plan (FDP)

Facilitate lessons learnt activities across all vehicle function groups

Manage customer experience feedback from warranty, IQS/JD Power and PDI

Project risk assessment and process development

FMEA business process and procedure management

Develop, Drive and support Virtual Process initiatives

Development Validation Plan (DVP) definition and sign off

Project Target Setting & Reporting:

Manage and process competitor benchmarking activities

Target setting for customer relevant perceived quality features

Target setting for business objectives: RFT, Rework Mins, Warranty costs 

Project status reporting to senior management

Dimensional Management: 

3D Tolerance studies utilising 3DCS & Aesthetica CAD tools

Orientation of predictions to support balance of quality target, investment and manufacturing cost target achievement

Engineering drawing sign off supporting drawing office to BS8888 ISO:1101

Support definition of robust quality control processes within the supply chain

Cubing process management 

Basic Qualifications

Degree in relevant engineering related subject area

10 Year+ experience in the Automotive industry

10 Years experience in quality control and management positions on new projects

Six Sigma training 

Knowledge of Catia V6 / 3D Experience applications

Quality maturation processes; Cubing, APQP, PPAP

Understanding of cross market requirements from premium to exclusive produce niches

Luxury product experience

Proficient in the use of Microsoft office applications such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and Explorer

Preferred Skills & Experience 

Knowledge and experience in working within new product development teams

Proactive attitude towards change management

Problem management and solving skills: Practical Problem Solving, 8D

Ability to clearly a concisely communicate technical data in to meaningful messages

Excellent presentation skills: Collation and delivery at all business levels

Cross functional integrated working skills

Continuous improvement mentality and principle understanding

Manufacturing process knowledge: Molding, pressing, casting, composite layup, jig & fixtures

Materials knowledge covering: Metals, polymers, composites

Quality tooling / processes: Inspection fixtures, CMM processes 

GD&T BS:8888 ISO 1101

Awareness of 3D tolerance simulation tools and techniques

Exceptional communication skills

Independent /Self Starting

Problem solving

Punctual and reliable

Good working ethic and team player.
